Baby Human Play and Learn Baby Spoon

by Anya Clowers, RN

What’s more messy than teaching a baby how to eat with a spoon?  How many times are the contents of the spoon spilled onto the baby’s lap or onto the floor before entering his mouth?  We’ve all been there…wondering how much our baby actually ate verses what portion of the food ended up scattered about.

The Baby Human Play and Learn Baby Spoon was designed to give babies an opportunity to get acquainted with the action of eating before attempting to eat with a real spoon. I was eager to try out the spoon with my 9 month old.

He was immediately attracted to the bright colors of the spoons (available in a pack of 2 brightly colored spoons – 1 orange and 1 green). As a teething baby, he was happy to grab the spoon and start gnawing on it.  The spoon is made of flexible rubber – comforting on sore gums. Plus, the spoon is free of BPA, phthalate and lead!

The Baby Human spoon fits perfectly into his chubby little hands and the curved handle allows him to easily direct the spoon to his mouth. I’m happy knowing that he’s learning how to hold a spoon while he’s playing.

As I’ve become more familiar with this spoon, I really appreciate some of its unique features:

  • The Baby Human spoon is double sided – promoting right or left handed use
  • A mouth guard on each end of the spoon prevents gagging
  • It’s a quiet toy, a teether, and a spoon in one!
