Help Me Find Some Good In This!

For the longest time I was in denial. I refused to believe that it was true.
As you know, I take a million pictures when traveling. However, unlike
most parents on a trip - my photos are not as much about the destination
as they are about the flight process.

This past trip to Europe was no different. We had great flights
on United and then Swiss Air. We flew through Chicago and Zurich,
Switzerland- having enough time in Switzerland for my son to play
in the wonderfully, bright, and fun play room for kids.

Arriving in Milan, Italy, I took photos of the airport and of the
Malpensa Shuttle that takes you into Milan central and the train station.
I took photos of small things that I thought could make a big difference.

I could tell you about the many photos and video I took, but unfortunately-
I cannot show them to you.

To make a long story shorter - I lost the camera case on the journey
home. I had the camera out since I took many photos of the flight
home and then stuck the camera in my purse (normally I don’t travel
with a purse, but I had bought a couple in Italy).

It was only a couple days after unpacking that I realized -
the case was gone.

So I can now tell you how to file a lost item report for Frankfurt
Airport, United Airlines, San Francisco Airport, and the Regional
Train in the Bay Area.

Sadly, no one has found my camera case - or at least returned it to me.
It is the contents in the camera case that make me so sad that it is gone.
Two full memory cards of photos. Hundreds of great photos of my son and
our trip.

Thankfully, we did have two cameras along - but the main camera and
all of my “research” photos and video from the first part of the trip- are gone.

I normally download my photos onto my laptop but I wanted two weeks
away from a computer- so I didn’t download the photos! I also didn’t think
to put them with my valuable belongings (like my passport).

But the real lesson here? I did not have any contact information
in my camera case.

Simple -simple - simple - and so much easier to think of AFTER it is
lost.

So - please - let something good come out of this lesson I learned.
Put your contact information on anything that you would want
returned to you.

And if you should ever find an empty camera case - do not assume that
it is worthless because the camera is not inside. I would happily GIVE
my camera to someone if I could get those photos.

So - my photos of some things are not the greatest- but I will share with
you what I do have!
