When accidents or medical emergencies happen – time is precious and can be essential to life-saving techniques.
Wearing identification and having quick access to emergency contacts and medical information can literally save your life.
In an emergency, it may be difficult to even remember your own name. Many times relatives and travel companions are in shock. This happened in one medical emergency onboard a flight I was on several years ago.
One male passenger was unresponsive. His wife was stuttering and unable to tell me what medications he was on, what time he took his last dose, and even what medical conditions he had. Many times family members are so emotionally connected to the victim that they are unable to provide reliable information – often necessary to treat the victim.
In the next few months, I will be reviewing several products that can save your life in emergency situations.
The first one is the identification called RoadID. These bracelets were originally designed for runners and athletes who often are in dangerous area (roads) without a purse or wallet – and therefore, have no identification.
RoadID is a great item for all travelers to wear. Whether on your shoe, around your neck (dog tags), or a wrist band – identification can alert emergency responders to medical conditions, allergies, and whom to contact in case of emergency. Even if you are traveling with someone, there are times when you may be momentarily separated and yet worlds away if something goes wrong.
RoadID is also available as an interactive id. This is a great concept for those with medical histories and medications. The identification states a phone number and website address where your information is available when the SERIAL & PIN is entered. The SERIAL & PIN numbers are on the back of the tag so this information is protected from the casual observer.
3M Scotchlite reflective stripe provides added safety when you are walking or running at night. The bands are laser engraved, satin finished stainless steel. They are waterproof (think of those days at the beach!), durable and lightweight.
I am ordering this for my family and wanted to share this great tool with the readers of Jet with Kids! Think about when you are traveling. If you are separated from your child, don’t rely on a frightened child in an unfamiliar environment to remember important information! And as I have learned – identification is beneficial for every traveling member – not just the kids!
And learn from me – don’t procrastinate – just order it and move on with life. Packable peace.
