I reviewed this when traveling with my son and infant nephew at my parent’s farm. Great for parents, grandparents (and one protective aunt!), the playard provided a safe place away from the farm dog, the dirt, and unseen hazards in the grass. We appreciated the ruggedness of this playard and its versatility for use in the house and outside.

4. Newborn-friendly bassinet attachment – with this attachment, you won’t have to bend over so far to place your newborn in the playard. (Basically the floor of the playard is able to be secured midway instead of near the floor.) Always great to save your back!

5. A protective travel cover keeps your playard clean while you transport it from place to place. This cover is really nice and definitely protects from the grimy belly of the plane!

6. Perfect for using/storing at grandma’s house, camping, or at the cabin. Grandparents love these playards because the quality wheels allow them to easily wheel it around.

7. Folds up and rolls right to the ticket counter at airports.

Although, I wouldn’t call this compact, it does fold and fit into the protective cover. It rolls really nicely like luggage. And with all the extra storage inside, it replaces the need for extra baggage! Yes, this can be checked as baggage.

This is not a small playard. I was hesitant to recommend it at first due to its size. However, the more I was around the playard I really appreciated the durability of it – knowing that it was going to be used for years for protecting the little one – and recognizing that it would need to be durable to last the pulling and banging of an infant holding on and pounding toys on the side, (as well as older kids reaching in from the outside), etc.. I also realized that the ruggedness of it was a unique feature. Perfect for camping, outdoors, and being handled by baggage handlers, I actually really appreciate the Jeep Playard for travel. It did make it easy to travel. I packed clothes inside, rolled it to the ticket counter and checked it without a second thought. With the protective cover, luggage telescoping handle, storage compartment, save-the-back bassinet and changing table options, this playard was a valuable resource for us!

It is like a big suitcase, so for those who have the room in the car and at the destination, this playard is sturdy and provides peace of mind as a familiar, safe place for your little ones to “vacation”. And of course, it fit fine in my dad’s jeep!
