JetWithKids Panel of Experts: TSA Upper Management Joe

by Anya Clowers, RN

At Jet With Kids, we research the practical side of travel. Although we travel a lot, our experience is limited to our viewpoint. We have worked hard these past 5 years establishing credibility and contacts within the travel, medical, juvenile, and senior (grandparents) markets. When I write about a topic, I research and consult with the experts in that area.

Today I would like to acknowledge someone who I consult with when airport security is discussed. He has become a good friend, a reliable source of information, and has a dedication to his job that deserves mention. Although not an official spokesperson for TSA, he has provided valuable tips for families from his many years of experience and knowledge. Former TSA Supervisor Joe, now in upper management working to keep our country safe, has taken time out of his extremely busy schedule to answer my questions – many times “Why” or “Please explain this to me…” and also to offer family friendly tips for surviving airport security with children and sanity!

Sometimes we get carried away with our negative view of airport security and how it slows us down, what a “hassle” it is and what the TSA officers do that annoy us.

In my communication with Joe these past 1 1/2 years, he has written about security with a passion and dedication that almost brings you to tears. He really cares – and is proud to work hard for our safety.

Although I am not able to disclose Joe’s full name, I can tell you that I view TSA with renewed respect because of him. I am so thankful to include Joe as part of the Jet With Kids Panel of Experts!

Thank you Joe – we appreciate your dedication, enthusiasm, passion, and patience!
