Travel Clothes: Jeans that Travel Well

by Anya Clowers, RN

Covering the practical side of travel is my specialty. And when it comes to packing, are jeans a wise choice? What about all the room they take up in the luggage? Are they dressy enough to be worn in various settings? Are they comfortable enough to be worn multiple days exploring?

My husband and I have found that we like to travel with one pair of our favorite jeans – because they don’t wrinkle, they don’t show dirt as fast, they are warmer than dress pants, and  we like to hang out with the locals and wear what fits the scene!

Jeans are jeans right? Is there really a noticeable difference past the brand name?

I can honestly say – YES!

When I was contacted by Joe’s Jeans and asked to review their designer jeans, I quickly accepted. I was packing for our Europe trip and had been looking for that “one pair” of jeans that fit the European scene- but was comfortable enough to justify packing. So I was disappointed that they didn’t offer a size for me (yep -there is a reason I don’t model clothes!), but I volunteered my 4 year old son and husband.

I was surprised when a thin package arrived. Yes, the jeans arrived packed together into a thin package – a great feature for the traveler!

Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
So super soft
Pack well
Look great- dressy yet casual
Slimming

Cons:
Not available in my size
Expensive

The soft material was smooth to the touch and great to wear (according to my husband). The fact that my son repeatedly selects these jeans to wear when he gets dressed tells me that they are comfortable to him – at 4 years old he doesn’t yet understand brand or fashion.

And not that either my husband or son need to look for clothes that are slimming – but these jeans streamlined them both and looked great!

My husband loved that they were dressy enough to be worn in Italy and the South of France and Monaco, yet comfortable enough to wear for those long days exploring on our European vacation!

Joe’s Jeans earned my respect for quality, comfortable jeans.

And just in time for Valentine’s Day – Joe’s Jeans is offering the readers of Jet With Kids a great deal – purchase one pair for your child or spouse and receive 50% off that fantastic pair for yourself! (see how I made that first about giving rather than receiving?) :)
Just enter the code JoesLovesJetKids at checkout at (http://joesjeans.com/shop/home.php)

But hurry – because the code is only good until Feb 23rd, 2009.
