Travel with Toddlers: ABC News & Jet With Kids!

by Anya Clowers, RN

I am honored to have been interviewed by Becky Worley, correspondent from ABC News’ Good Stuff, regarding traveling with toddlers. Scotty Kober, (GoodLittleTraveler.com) and I helped Becky and her twin toddlers prepare for a long flight to Hawaii with some tips and gear designed for the traveling family.

Included in the video are some of the products I have found over the past 6+ years to be Products Worth Packing.

Traveling with toddles does not need to be nightmarish.

Is it easy? No – usually never easy.

Is it worth it? Well, my son visited 17 countries these past 6 years (before finishing kindergarten). I think that appropriately represents the value I have placed on traveling with my kids.

Travel smart – be prepared. I think the video on Good Morning America is great in that it shows first the importance of preparing kids and recognizing that travel with toddlers does require extra preparation for all. I love the Shae By Air DVD Toolkit for toddlers. A video made specifically FOR toddlers! Scotty Kober is passionate about making it easy for children to appreciate the fascinating flight process. Her site www.GoodLittleTraveler.com is worth visiting to prepare for the big adventure ahead! Here is a link to our recommended preparation tools.

Safety is also a main concern when traveling -and all passengers regardless of age should be buckled in for flight. The CARES harness and the Radian car seat have made this so much easier for us!

And that little ear popping device on the Good Morning America video? Well – look for some big news from me about that! Subscribe to the Jet With Kids blog to keep up to date with all things practical, safety, and health related to travel.

Enjoy your trip!
