Traveling With Kids: Diaper Bag for DAD!

You know when you are with the kids and something messy happens and you need a wipe…QUICK! Yes, those moments do seem to happen quite frequently.  Whether it be a baby spitting up,  a toddler who thinks he is old enough to hold his own drink in a big cup… or the diaper that is a LOT worse than you thought…

The wipes are never near enough and easy enough to get to.  Furthermore, there usually isn’t any motivation for a toddler to help find them if your hands are full or busy with your infant.

AND did you ever find that moms always get stuck carrying the diaper bag places because it may seem a bit of a “purse” to dad?

OR ever been out and about and wish that you could get places without all of the “stuff” – yet know you need the contents of that diaper bag or else you WILL regret it?

Introduce DAD GEAR.  Founded by two dads, this company is making many parents smile and look stylish!

John and Scott went with the concept that they were guys – guys who take pride in caring for their kids, Ella and Carson.  Their products are made with quality materials, and the bags are functional yet not “diaper baggish”.

They even  designed a vest that holds the necessary contents for a trip out without having to lug a bag along.  They have great designs and a large variety to suit every taste!  It’s not every day that you see a “diaper bag” with skull and bones on it!

I reviewed the backpack when flying with my husband.  The best part of this bag is the handy wipes (called the Quick Access Wipes Case). My son is 3 and at first I didn’t think the wipes feature would make that big of a difference on our trip.  As soon as we got on the plane, I was diluting my son’s apple juice with water and I was the one who spilled!  My son was so happy – quickly reaching for the Dad Gear Backpack stating that HE could get the wipe out and clean up ME! Hello wipes – easy to access and my son had a great time being a “big helper”! He then wiped down the tray table and the window (kept him busy for a bit).

This bag is great for families with infants as the storage compartment for bottles holds 4 bottles or 3 for baby and a water for dad! And the diaper hammock on the top is convenient for diapers or anything that you need to grab quickly.

The bag opens completely, has a light interior so it’s easy to see things, and stores a lot. Click here to watch a quick video about the backpack’s unique features.

No need to worry about not being seen when walking with this backpack!  The reflective stripes down the back really stand out and are a nice safety feature on vacation when you might be looking the wrong direction for cars (remember Australia?).

Tired of carrying the backpack? Special straps allow it to fasten onto a stroller or as you can see in this photo- my laptop bag. The straps also provided a bit of in flight entertainment for my son! (Whatever works!)

I found the straps of the bag to be very comfortable and a good fit (even for mom!).

And as you can see, the backpack allows a dad to be hands free at the park for some quality time in a toddler driven “bus”!

I also appreciate the key clip inside that eliminates the need for “bottom of the bag searching” when only one hand is available.

It is easy to see that this backpack was designed by caring parents who wanted quality time with their kids and a bag that fit all of their needs!

From Messenger Bags to Backpacks to the Fleece “Diaper Bag” Vest, this gear is sure to take care of all the dads out there wanting to enjoy the trip with their kids!
