I flew to Las Vegas (for the ABC Kids Show) this past month -alone – which is very rare for me. Only the second flight in over 4 years that I have not traveled with my son.
So I headed to the back of the plane (yes, out of habit) and sat down smiling at the flight attendant. I had something to review for me.

I opened the tray table and took the black sleek looking item out of my bag, unfolded it, and gently slid it onto the tray. I then closed the tray table back up, latched it – and tada! My own personal “station” of items I would need in flight!

Hello Happiness! The flight attendant slid into the seat next to me and asked – where did you get this? He also was smiling. And then he commented, “You know, we never reach into those seat pockets without gloves on – and there is a good reason for that!”
I had the pleasure of meeting the TrayBien Inventor Kathy Drury the very next day at the Las Vegas ABC Kids show.

Thanks to Kathy Drury, I am now taking the “personalizing my space” concept one step further. With my PlaneSheets seat cover in place and my PlaneComfort bag (my clean pillow and blanket) ready for the flight and now the TrayBien covering the tray table in front of me – I am completely in my own space – and not caring who the thousands of people were that sat there before me!
TrayBien is brilliant. And for every traveler out there. From cute baby patterns to primary color preschooler to black for the serious business traveler – this tray cover not only protects you from disgusting whatevers from millions of travelers – it saves time and energy and adds huge amounts of convenience to flying.

So back to my story – as we (the flight attendant and I) were sitting, smiling, and admiring my TrayBien, the captain makes an announcement. Seems there was a problem with the door that would take a couple hours to fix and so we were deplaning; Southwest happened to have another plane right there we could use!
Now normally I will admit- that would have caused some stress for me. I would have had those seat pockets already stocked with necessary supplies for the flight. Frantically I would be collecting the items, trying to stuff them in appropriate places and making sure not to leave anything on the plane.
Instead, I smiled again – scooped the Tray Bien off the tray – and tada! All my belongings were neatly in place. No stress! Simply pack the TrayBien with your belongings at home, place it in an easy to reach location in your carry-on luggage, and you are set!
Family travelers, business travelers, senior travelers, special needs travelers, unaccompanied minors – anyone that doesn’t want to search for or leave their belongings in those disgusting, sometimes broken seat pockets – the TrayBien is for you!
The TrayBien covers the entire tray – which means that you are not placing food and beverages on the germ filled surface, but instead on your own TrayBien!
The TrayBien also has a small elastic hook and Velcro to secure your belongings so nothing falls out when the tray table is opened. I took a photo to show the side view – although the photo didn’t turn out that great, it gives you the idea.

And Jet with Kids is giving away a FREE Tray Bien to 2 travelers! Here’s how to win:
Simply send us an email (info (@) jetwithkids (dot) com) with My TrayBien in the subject line. Answer this question in the email:
What will be stocked in your TrayBien on your next flight?
One Tray Bien each will be given to the 2 most unique and valuable answers. We are looking for beneficial items for family travel. Winners will be selected on October 31, 2008 and notified by email. Winners names will be posted on Jet with Kids site. Remember to include your name, address (email and shipping) and which TrayBien you would like.
ONE MORE THING! Members of the Jet with Kids community know that I love multi-functional products. Can TrayBien be used outside the airplane cabin? Of course! As Kathy told me, “It’s great for putting over the top of a chair at restaurants for essential kid stuff such as pacifiers, toys, books, bottle, sippy cups, etc..” No more reaching into a bag on the floor. Now I am happy – and flying in my own personalized space…
If you are wondering – yes, my son and I will fly with 2 TrayBiens (primary colors and black). I will take more photos on flights – but had to get this out to you. The TrayBien is a great gift for business travelers. They can pack the organizer before flight and save time.
Congrats Kathy!
The TrayBien is Jet with Kids Approved! as a valuable resource for travelers of all ages!
